As a Okinawan tradition,we make"Muchi",a type of rice cake on every Dec.8th according to the old calender. It's for driving away our unluck and wishing for the familie's health(especialy for the children).
"Muchi"is basicly made from rice cake powder, water and sugar kneaded and wraped in a shellflower leaf. After they steamed, the kitchen will be filled with a wonderful aroma and that smells spread even over on the street.
The day we make "Muchi" is usually very cold day, but the moment we start eating it, the day change into the hot and warm day. Enjoy"Muchi".
